About me
Hello, welcome to my blog. I am Fred van Dijk.
I work as a software developer and trainer at Zest Software. We’re an open source software company located in Hoogvliet, the Netherlands.
At Zest Software I’m mainly involed with:
- Plone and Zope customisations and integration work.
- Django web applications
- doing End User and Developer Training
But I don’t shy away from doing some copy writing, marketing, system administration and support as well. I’m an avid Apple user, but feel comfortable on linux servers as wel and even ‘do’ Windows if it’s for professional purposes. My main programming language of choice is Python. My hobbies include reading, singing in a project choir and photography.
Indentfour.com
If you’re wondering abou the domain name and title of this website, it’s got to do with the Python programming language. As I started working at Zest and diving into programming again after a long time, I started using Python. One of the syntax rules is that you indent loops, logical structures, where other languages would use brackets, ()’s, or signalling keywords like BEGIN and END to identify the blocks. According to the Python Style guilde, PEP-008, you use four spaces to indent. Need I write more?
